We're from here.
The Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group led by locals to meet the needs of our community. Since our beginning as the organizers behind the Acres Homes Renaissance Festival, we've become a group leading efforts to make sure the neighborhood is healthy, housed, and heard.
"We are Acres Homes!"
Mission
Our mission is to promote neighborhood participation while gathering resources from the public and private sectors to address the immediate needs of our community. Engagement from our residents will create a sense of resilience and inclusivity between the generations.
Vision
The Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group aims to preserve the community through educational training, community organizing, and communal gatherings.
Our focus is to establish and sustain our community groups to empower residents of Acres Homes to become more civically engaged and support the next generation of residents. An important part of taking care of our neighborhood is ensuring that our neighbors have access to information and resources that can enhance their overall quality of life, including resources to revitalize their homes, information about how government directly impact their lives or providing free resources to enhance their overall health.

Our
Founding
The Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group was founded in 2022 by E. Rain Eatmon, a lifelong resident of Acres Homes.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Texas Southern University, Rain started her career in community organization by creating the first-ever Garden City Music Festival, which is now known as the Acres Homes Renaissance Festival.
Her involvement in arts led her to a job as a Special Projects Coordinator with Texas State Representative Jarvis Johnson (District 139). Previously, Rain also worked with Restoring Justice, which assists people from marginalized communities with holistic legal support, volunteer connections, social services, and trauma care.

As the current CEO, Eatmon leads the Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group using her many years of experience and passion for Acres Homes as a guide.
